The Charity Commission has launched the first in a new series of audio podcasts, designed to help charity trustees protect their charity against fraud.
The 10-minute programme, which is presented by the Commission's Head of Investigations and Enforcement, Michelle Russell and Jamie Johnson, Head of Action Fraud, explains what trustees should do if their charity does fall victim to fraud.
Jamey Johnson, Head of Action Fraud, said charities can't be complacent when it comes to tackling fraud:"Charities, unfortunately, are not immune to fraud and financial crime, and those responsible for managing charities have a duty to take steps to prevent their charity from being targeted.
“This new podcast makes clear that there are lots of simple of steps trustees can take to deter fraudsters – and to help other charities by reporting incidents to Action Fraud when they do occur."
