Police are warning of a scam sweeping the UK in which goods are delivered to people's houses and collected by bogus couriers.
A family in Wales raised the alarm after believing they may have been victims of the scam.
They contacted Littlewoods after receiving an unexpected package, and the company informed them of the nationwide swindle.
The family also called police and officers went to the house to collect the package and return it to the company.
Not ordered anything
A spokeswoman for Dyfed- Powys Police said: "We have had a report of one incident in the Ammanford area where an unexpected parcel was delivered by Littlewoods, and the persons at the address knew they had not ordered anything.
"They contacted Littlewoods who informed them they were experiencing a high number of these types of incidents, and the occupants could expect a supposed courier to call to collect it.
"The occupier contacted police, and officers attended to collect the parcel and ensured it was returned to the company safely."
A Littlewoods spokeswoman said all its credit applications were reviewed by credit reference and fraud agencies.
The company is also a member of Cifas, the UK fraud service, and reports all confirmed fraudulent applications to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau.
"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all online retailers in combating fraud, these types of offences do occasionally take place," the spokeswoman added. "If you suspect you may have been the victim of identity fraud in order to buy goods, then you should contact the retailer in question directly in the first instance.
"We would also advise anyone concerned about identify theft to apply for a copy of their personal credit report to ensure there are no unknown transactions or applications in their name.
"You can apply to Equifax or Experian for your credit file."
