Criminals have inserted malicious code into more than 500,000 web pages. The virus makes computer users think their machines are infected with multiple viruses.
When clicking on the link to an infected website url, rogue software called the ‘Windows Stability Center’ is installed onto a user’s computer.
This malicious software that is being downloaded is currently only being detected by 13 out of 43 anti-virus systems, according to VirusTotal.
Do not believe the scam message
The virus then brings up a message on users’ screens, stating that the computer has a number of viruses. Users are asked to buy the full version of the application to fix the computer.
This is a fake message. Users should not give out any personal information and should instead close the message.
